The trail in Podkoren has been prepared as well as the one in Maribor, which is ready up to “Trikotna jasa” (Triangular Clearing). Three cold days in Maribor have been enough to cover half of Pohorje’s slope with artificial snow. This means that at least tourist skiing will have started on top of the Fox’s giant slalom by the end of this week.
The Organizing Committee of the 48th Golden Fox competition yesterday evening held a session and decided that, due to the relocation of the competition to Kranjska Gora,
Srecko Vilar, the general secretary of the 48th Golden Fox has confirmed that the International Ski Federation has confirmed Saturday's giant slalom dates, as well as Sunday's slalom. The arrival schedule of the teams in Kranjska Gora, who will start arriving on Thursday, was also confirmed.
Immediately after last week’s rumors spread that this year’s Golden Fox could be moved to Kranjska Gora, the Podkorn ski slope was visited by some of the best skiers in the World Cup.
In Maribor, Srečko Medven, the general secretary of the Vitranc Cup and Golden Fox competitions, accompanied Srečko Vilar and Gorazd Bedrač and promised 100 percent support:
The press conference was also attended by Gorazd Bedrač, head of the competition in Maribor, who said that the relocation to KG was the only possible solution, particularly in light of an agreement with the FIS that the race should remain in Slovenia:
"The Golden Fox is moving to Kranjska Gora!" This has been confirmed by Srecko Vilar, the Secretary of the Organizing Committee and the most important figure of the event.
