In the morning everybody was waiting for the rain to start. In the afternoon, without enough rain, the decision was made, to wait till Wednesday. At the present weather situation this seams to be the best possible decision.
In spite of the extremly high and unsual temperatures for this time of the year and of the unfavourable weather forecast , all works on the course of the 47th Golden Fox are proceeding without interruption.
The weather has never been kind to the organizers of the Golden Fox. In December the slope was well prepared, then the Christmas thaw messed it up. Now in January it came again and the fight for saving the course started.
The representatives of Zavarovalnica Maribor and of the Organizing Committee of the 47th Golden Fox did today, only some minutes after the greeen light for the event was given by the FIS snow inspector, officially confirmed theagreement of the partnership for the organization of the AUDI FIS Ski World Cup for Ladies, taking this year place on January 15th - 17th on the Snow Stadium in Maribor.
Facing the a group of gathered journalists in the finish arena of the Snow Stadium at Mariborsko Pohorje, Mr. Filip Gartner, the Snow Inspector of the FIS gave today at 12.30 green light and OK for the 47th Golden Fox.
After the French team had tested the snow on Pohorje on the last day of 2010, yesterday and today the Slovenian team was training in the Snow stadium.
The French team, with Tessa Worley, the best giant slalom racer in the running WC season and the winner of the last three GS in this season, had yesterday, two weeks ahead of the 47th Golden Fox , as the first one tested the snow on the slopes in Maribor.
