At first at the introductory meeting of the organizing committee of the 44th Golden Fox Trophy the members analyzed the last competition that had to be moved to Kranjska Gora because of lack of snow on Pohorje.

Analysis of the competition has shown that no major mistakes were done except that there was too little done on the direct promotion for the Maribor competition in Kranjska Gora.

Srečko Vilar, Secretary General of the OC of the Golden Fox: "The race was carried out in accordance with the prepared project. One of the most important reasons for the competition to be moved to Kranjska Gora and by that stayed in Slovenia was to enable the Slovenian competitors a performance at one of the domestic ski slopes. Another reason was to carry out this classical competition that is scheduled in the World Cup and is also one of the members of the Big Five. Nevertheless, there are also our sponsors that have supported us in recent years and that expected the competition to be realized.
