The traditional and jubilee 60th Golden Fox will take place in Kranjska Gora between January 6 and 7, 2024, and tickets for the prestigious women's alpine skiing competition in the 2023/2024 season are already on sale. Under the Podkoren slope, our great ladies who have triumphed at home will also be present: Tina Maze, Mateja Svet, Urška Hrovat, and Nataša Bokal. The celebration of women's skiing has always been an important part of Slovenian culture, making it crucial for the Golden Fox competition to be held at home, in Slovenia.
Our formidable Slovenian women have proven that excellent results at the Golden Fox are achievable, whether in Maribor or Kranjska Gora, where the Golden Fox has often hosted.

In 1988, Mateja Svet defeated the competition in both disciplines in Kranjska Gora, surpassing the legendary and eternal rival Vreni Schneider. A universal alpine skiing euphoria began. In her farewell season two years later, she also won the giant slalom competition at the Golden Fox in Maribor.

Three years later, in 1991, Nataša Bokal won the slalom on the Podkoren slope. Her victory was the last one in Kranjska Gora, and Veronika Šarec accompanied her on the podium. In the giant slalom held the day before her victory, Nataša finished second.

Urška Hrovat is the first Slovenian with a victory in Maribor and the only Slovenian who has stood on all three podiums in Maribor. She began her successful quest for the Golden Fox with a slalom victory in 1994. The next day, she finished third in the giant slalom, and in 1997, she also secured a second place in the slalom.

Tina Maze, a record-holder, champion, the most successful alpine skier of all time, and the most successful domestic fox, is in a class of her own. She celebrated her victories with flips in the finish line and stood on the podium of the Golden Fox six times. In 2002, she was second in the giant slalom, and three years later, she won for the first time. In 2009, her great ascent began with a victory in Maribor, and a year later, she triumphed in the slalom. In her dream season in 2013, she became the third Slovenian to win the Golden Fox with a victory in the giant slalom and the fourth Slovenian with an overall victory at the Golden Fox. She was also second in the giant slalom at that time.
Slovenian skiers, including Ana Bucik, Andreja Slokar, and Neja Dvornik, will also participate. We will also cheer for younger Slovenian representatives who are following in the footsteps of the Golden Fox. Slovenian flags in the finish line and the advantage of the home field will undoubtedly provide an additional boost.
