Everything is ready for one of the best races in the long and successful history of Pohorje Cup! The race course is excellent, Slovenians with Ana Drev, last year’s second in GS and Ilka Štuhec, this season’s four-time-winner in the World Cup, will be attacking the highest ranks, and one of the best skiers of all times will bid farewell from her fans at her home race. Tina Maze will start with bib #34. On such a well prepared and solid track she will have good conditions to perform in her good old way.
Tomorrow’s bibs: 1. Weirather, 2. Brignone, 3. Rebensburg, 4. Worley, 5. Bassino, 6. Shiffrin, 7. Gut… 15. Drev, 31. Štuhec, 34. Maze, 35. Lavtar, 38. Robnik, 57. Hrovat.
Nevertheless, under the hill of Pohorje everything is set for tomorrow’s race. Probably, there have never been so many reasons to attend the race and cheer for Slovenian racers. So far the highest number of spectators was 40 thousand in two days back in 2013, when Tina Maze became a foxy. Two years ago 18 thousand fans came to support Tina. Can we expect this record to be broken this year?
Arrive to the venue early enough and well dressed. The weather forecast for tomorrow promises sun, but also severe cold. Start of the first run is scheduled at 9.15, the second at 13.15. The most comfortable and quickest way to come to the snow stadium is by bus #6, which operates free of charge on both days.
