The condition of the competition slope in Podkoren in Kranjska Gora, where the Golden Fox (Zlata Lisica) is scheduled for the fifth consecutive time, was inspected yesterday by the snow controller of the International Ski Federation (FIS), Jani Hladnik. He praised the hard work of the organizers despite the less than ideal conditions for preparing the snow base. "In the upper part of the slope, the snow base is somewhat thin, specifically at the start and 70 meters after the start. However, the organizer has snow reserves, so they will be able to fix this. It is also necessary to add a tent for the competitors in case of bad weather and to conceal the steel ropes for the safety net."
According to the general recommendations of the International Ski Federation, the snow cover for women's World Cup races must be at least 30 centimeters thick, and the racecourse must be at least 30 meters wide or six widths of the grooming machine. However, this alone is not enough for the competition, as acknowledged by the competition director, Janez Slivnik: "We have received the green light, but there is still some work to be done. Looking at the ski slope, we need some more snow in the upper part of the track. However, we have enough snow in stock; we just need to place it in the right spot. There is still some cosmetic work to be done along the track, especially repairing the safety nets to ensure that the race can be conducted safely."

The world's best alpine skiers will first compete for giant slalom points on Saturday, with the first run starting at 9:30 a.m., followed by the final run three hours later. On Sunday, the slalom will take place, again starting with the first run at 9:30 a.m., and the final run at 12:30 p.m.
The small victory in organizing the jubilee edition of the Golden Fox competition was warmly welcomed by the Secretary-General of the Organizing Committee, Tomaž Šušteršič: "In the past weeks, we have done a lot of work on the Podkoren slope to make this confirmation possible, even though the weather conditions were not always the most favorable. However, we hope that nature will be more generous in the coming days, leading up to the Golden Fox, with low temperatures and perhaps even snowfall, creating a white backdrop for the anniversary edition of this competition."
The competition organizers are also preparing a rich accompanying program. On Saturday, between the two giant slalom runs, the audience under the Podkoren slope will be entertained by Magnifico. The fun will continue in the evening at Victory Square in Kranjska Gora with the Mambo Kings band. On Sunday, the popular band Čuki will ensure a lively atmosphere during the slalom race.
Tickets for the 60th Golden Fox can be obtained on the Eventim website and at their sales points. Children up to the age of 6 have free entry.
