During Lienz slalom Atle Skaardal gave organizers from Maribor a green light for moving the venue to Kranjska Gora. Throughout more than 50-year old history of Pohorje Cup, this will be a seventh venue change for The Golden Fox to Kranjska Gora (1976, 1988, 1991, 2007, 2012, 2014) and a ninth venue change in total (Badgastein 1974, Jahorina 1975).

Srečko Vilar, OC 54. Golden Fox General Secretary: ”Kranjska Gora is officially an alternate venue for the Golden Fox so this FIS decision was expected. We also have previous experience with moving the race to Kranjska Gora, so things will be a bit easier. FIS needs both races before the Olympic Games due to qualifications within the teams. We will do this together with friends in Kranjska Gora. A bigger challenge is to ensure enough accommodation capacities in Bled. There is enough of snow in Podkoren, the racecourse is practically ready. We will do our best to create a great sports event in Kranjska Gora and to keep a positive financial outcome.”
