The Czech and the Slovak exhange their placements from eight years ago, Schiffrin claims victory persuasively and wins the Pohorje combine at the same time

That wasn't Tina Maze's  weekend, although it was a superb Golden Fox weekend. All the praises go to the organizers, who managed to prepare a top quality track and the whole organization was perfect, but unfortunately all that didn't help the best skier in the world. After the first run and sixth place she tried to attack in the final run, but only managed to the intermediate time, where she ran down the gate and was out immediately after that. Heavy rain didn't obstacle some 6.000 spectators, who were loudly cheering for Tina, went silent for a moment or two after she went out, but right afterwards greeted her with a huge applause and thus awarded her for all her achievements so far this season and to show her their support for the rest of it, since with her sum of zero points after this weekend it'll be tough to keep the leadership in the World Cup overall standings.

”We need to keep going, I'm used to it already, I'm not planning anything in advance but only checking out the forthcoming races. Tomorrow I'll be training super G here in Maribor on this course, '' said Tina in heavy rain, which flooded the second run of the Golden Fox.

But the World champion wasn't bothered by rainy weather at all. She again attacked on the second course and beat all her competitors by more than a second.

A leap to the podium  from the eighth place was managed in the second slalom by the Slovak Veronika Velez Zuzulova, who exchanged her ranking from eight years ago with her colleague, the Czech Sarka Strachova.

The first day of the Golden Fox event was watched live by about 18.000 spectators, the second day despite rain provided some 8.000 spectators attending the slalom race. The Golden Fox keeps being a special event in the World Cup!
