Rain was welcome as it soaked the slopes, which would otherwise have been the organizer's task. Snowfall followed the rain and Podkoren was covered with half a meter of fresh snow in just 12 hours. Teams spent the night preparing the slopes with snow groomers and removing excess snow from the slope. The night mission started around 2 AM and successfully ended at 8 AM. Markus Mayr, Race Director of World Cup Women Technical Events, was pleased with the outcome, and Mitja Dragšič with his team was tired. The morning brought clear skies and the weather is taking over hardening the slope surface. 

 

Mitja Dragšič, Chief of Race: ”The racecourse is looking great! Tomorrow's freeskiing session for competitors is canceled because there is simply too much snow surrounding the slope. We need that time to put up safety nets as the new snow pulled them down, set up backdrops along the racecourse and in the finish area«.
