If the weather hasn't cooperated with the organizers of the 48th Golden Fox event for more than two months with spring temperatures, it was on the right side together with the Maribor organizers and the racers at least for two days in Kranjska Gora. The sun appeared from behind Vitranc and additionally warmed up the spectators, who came to Podkoren to cheer for our skiers and the Golden Fox. The 48th event in a row was a great success in front of 13.000 fans (5.000 at GS and 8.000 at SL race) from organizational and racing point of view. All racers praised both racing tracks, which enabled not only the most technical but also the toughest skiing battle of high quality in this season. The organizers were relieved, because after the last year’s cancellation and this season's moving to Kranjska Gora, they succeeded at last. Srečko Vilar, secretary general of the OC of the 48th Golden Fox event: ”We achieved the main goal – a solution for the World Cup race was found in Slovenia. Even more, not only that The Fox stayed in the country, we also received a lot of praises for the successful organization. A successful accomplishment in Kranjska Gora actually means also the beginning for the big jubilee of The Golden Fox in Maribor. There's only one more Golden Fox event that separates us from the high jubilee, the 50th anniversary! In Kranjska Gora we received a lot of help from our friends, who organize The Vitranc Cup. They really offered all the help we had needed and were also actively involved in the organization of both races. With their rich experience, nevertheless, Vitranc has already had its 50th birthday, they contributed a huge deal of this success. We can be proud of this excellent execution of the event and also of excellent 48th Golden Fox results.” On Sunday, after the SL race at Podkoren skiing area, the greeting was only one: see you in Maribor for the 49th Golden Fox Trophy that will take place on Pohorje on 26th and 27th January 2013. The jubilee 50th Golden Fox is scheduled for Maribor a year later on 1 and 2 February 2014!
