Hans Grogl, FIS snow controller: “Safety comes first, especially in the Olympic season. Upper racecourse area, up to slalom start, has enough snow and I must compliment the organizers for a job well done. But in the lower area the racecourse is just too narrow and unfortunately it is impossible to organize a world cup race on this racecourse. I will inform Atle Skaardal, World Cup Chief Race Director, who will in agreement will the organizer decide about further procedures.
Srečko Vilar, OC 54. Golden Fox General Secretary: We will suggest to Atle Skaardal to move the race venue to Kranjska Gora. Kranjska Gora has enough of snow and we have already ensured accommodation capacities for competitors and all accompanying personnel in Bled. Venue change will increase total expenses, but cancelling the race would cause a great loss for our skiing.
