In the Snow stadium of Maribor, where the 46th Golden Fox Trophy is going to take place in 17 days, the snow-guns are quietly watching the skiers swinging path them on the snow track. At the edges the thaw took away some snow, but the course is apparently in spite of that still in good shape.
Gorad Bedrač, Chief of the Race: "We are waiting for the cold. Expected in the first days of the new year. In fact we do need only two or three cold days to finish the course preparation and there is no reason for being anxious, because we have still enough time. For regular skiing there is enough snow and the water reservoirs are filled up again."
The open time for the temperatures to fall, which are at the time being still to high for the snowmaking even at nights, is till January 7, 2010. On that day the FIS Snow Controller – appointed is again Mr. Filip Gartner - is going to inspect the course and decide whether it is OK for the race.
