Two weeks prior the event organizers remain optimistic. It is not possible to ski on Pohorje at present. However, Chief of Race, Mitja Dragšič reports: ”There's enough snow for slalom event and we're expecting the cold weather for giant slalom event.”It's typical for Pohorje in January to be affected by thaw. Last time thaw set it, it took 20-40 % of snow. Yet we made enough snow in early January so current situation is not critical.”Quite the opposite,” thinks former Chief of Race, Gorazd Bedarč, who remembers well facing trouble before 51st Golden Fox: ”Compared to last year it is much, much better. At this time last year we had only a bit of snow on the course.” Weather situation is favourable. Organizers are expecting cold to help Milan Šmon's team in additional snowmaking, especially in upper part of giant slalom course up to Trikotna jasa.
