On Maribor's Pohorje  the 44th Golden Fox Trophy started with a giant slalom race. After the first run Austria's Elisabeth Goergl is in the best position before the second placed Manuela Moelg with a 40 hundreds of a second delay, third is Kathrin Zettel, who's more than a second behind. The winner of the last four giant slalom races in the World Cup, Denise Carbon, is sixth. In the second run three Slovenian skiers will perform, best placed among them is Mateja Robnik, 23rd.
