The honorary patron of the 49th Golden Fox, president Borut Pahor, helped the workers on the course. On Saturday morning, he first helped by preparing the course by injection board on the upper part of the GS course and then even spreading the snow in a snow tamping machine on the bottom part of the course. After finishing working on the course, Drago Cotar, the chairman of the organizing commitee, Srečko Vilar, secretary general and Gorazd Bedrač, head of the competition, informed the honorary patron about the preparations for the competition. The president will be watching the Sunday's slalom.
The day that Pohorje experienced a real skiers invasion – 4500 skiers during the day, all parkings were full – the organizers of the 49th Golden Fox finished the preparation of the entire course which is now practically ready for the competition.
Gorazd Bedrač, head of the competition: ''Already on Saturday morning we have prepared the upper part of the course by injection board with water. On the bottom part additional snow-making has stopped, the snow is spread and there is more than enough snow on all parts of the course. In the evening we will prepare the bottom part of the course by injection board and thereby finish our work on snow. On Sunday we will begin to put up safety fences and other objects on the course.''
The technical team of TV Slovenia has also arrived to Maribor to broadcast the 49th Golden Fox. The message of the international marketing agency Infront, owner of TV rights, shows great interest for the World Cup race in Maribor: ''The competition in Maribor will be broadcasted live by 14 TV stations!''
