There was a press conference in the Europark shopping mall held by the Slovenian National ski team. The girls were expected by a large crowd and the journalists, who went mad, after the arrival of the leading Tina Maze. She came to Maribor directly after the training in Italy. "I've always wanted to be the favourite racer here in Maribor. I'm not under such pressure because of the huge lead in the overall World Cup, so I'll be more relaxed at these home races. Anyway, I still do want to challenge myself and take care of the tense weekend," the visitors of the shopping mall were assured by Tina Maze, who continued: "Maribor has always represented an advantage of some kind, because here's some energy that I can't feel anywhere else. I know the slope, although I haven't skied here for quite some time now, but I believe in this advantage and hopefully I'll use it as well. Phisically I feel great and hope to stay that way also in the following days. Nevertheless, the point is, that we have a good time."In a positive atmosphere also other Slovenian skiers addressed the visitors: ‘’Performing at home is a unique experience, so I'm looking forward to racing here, because I'm sure there will be crazy cheering, '' Ilka Štuhec enthusiastically summed up. Also Ana Bucik wishes to have positive results in Maribor: "At our last races the performances weren't so successful, but I had good training conditions this year. I could build my shape and work on the skiing technique. I expect the results of this hard work to be shown at the future races.""I'm again happy to see huge interest in Slovenian skiing, like here at this moment. This provides additional motivation for the racers and for better results. All girls were training hard for the Maribor races and are really looking forward to racing at the Golden Fox Trophy. I'm sure they'll justify expectations and fight for the best results in the season," the atmosphere at the press conference was commented by chief of the Slovenian national team Vlado Makuc."We did everything to take care for the people of Maribor and all other spectators. This will also be reached by the special traffic regime, by which we want to avoid the traffic jams on the roads, and there will be additional parking lots and free bus rides from the city centre. At the same time, we can also guarantee that the ticket prices will remain unchanged for the third year already,'' said Srečko Vilar, chief of the OC for the golden Fox Trophy. The official programme of the golden Fox starts on Friday, January 25, at 17.00 at the Leon Štukelj Square with a rich music programme and public draw for the Saturday's GS.
