The best world skiers were welcomed by a wonderful winter weather and an excellently prepared track. In these ideal winter conditions on the first session track of the 45th Golden Fox, done by the Austrian coach Moser, the best was last seasons GS champion, the Italian Denise Karbon. To the delight of the domestic crowd, the Slovenian Tina Maze, was the second and the third another Italian, Mauela Moelgg. The home skiing fans were happy to see other successful Slovenian racers, Mateja Robnik as 11th and Maruša Ferk, who placed herself as 16th.
