Unfortunately only in the upper half, which is sufficiently covered with snow while lack of snow remains in lower part of slalom racecourse. So far, organizers are over halfway through race preparations, yet they worry about the weather forecast since there is still no cold and frost predicted after Christmas holidays. FIS snow control is scheduled on 28. December, therefore Organizing Committee meeting one day prior will be decisive.

Srečko Vilar, General Secretary of the Organizing Committee: »  If there will be colder weather, which will enable snowmaking, we will ask for two or three days of snow control delay. At the same time, I am staying in contact with World Cup Chief Race Director, Atle Skaardal. We will do everything to keep the race in Maribor, we are still optimistic about it.«

While Golden Fox racecourse is already open for skiing, other preparations like finish area infrastructure set up, are continuing as planned. There is still enough time left for snowmaking in the lower racecourse area. Santa should only bring some cold weather.
