Žan Kranjec reached the second podium of the season and the jubilee, tenth one, in his career today with third place in the giant slalom of the World Cup in Val d'Isere. He attacked the second run from the eleventh place and with an exceptional second run he left lots of excellent giant slalomers behind.
In Sestrier, the first giant slalom points of the season were achieved by Ana Bucik, who was also the only Slovenian in the final race with thirteenth place, while Neja Dvornik took 47th place. With the sixth giant slalom victory in the World Cup and the first in Sestrier, Marta Bassino dominated on home soil. With the win she also took the place of leader in the special sixth grade discipline after two selected women's giant slaloms this season.
Until the 59th Golden Foxes, where best world skiers will compete in two giant slaloms on January 7 and 8, 2023 in Podkoren, there is only one giant slalom race on December 28, in Semmering.
